Important decisions regarding Social Security and Medicare will need to be made before starting your benefits. We recommend creating your personal my Social Security account at ssa.gov and attending the Library Learning Social Security and Medicare educational workshop that explains the latest changes in these programs.  You can use your my Social Security account to request a replacement Social Security card, check the status of an application, and estimate future benefits.  The mission of the Library Learning program is to help improve retirement decisions through education.  Which is why we are providing access to educational information on Social Security and Medicare that we feel are easier to understand than government issued publications.  The information being offered through the Library Learning program has been made available to you at no cost by the Senior Benefits Foundation, an IRS approved 501c3.  The information provided is not meant to take the place of information and publications available free of charge from the government.  All information, opinions, and ideas should be discussed in detail with the appropriately qualified professional prior to implementation.   The Senior Benefits Foundation is not affiliated with or endorsed by the local library where the event is being held, the federal Medicare program, the Social Security Administration, or any other government agency.  The information will be presented to you by a National Social Security Advisor certificate holder.
