Important decisions regarding Social Security and Medicare will need to be made before starting your benefits. We recommend creating your personal my Social Security account at ssa.gov and attending the Library Learning Social Security and Medicare educational workshop that explains the latest changes in these programs. You can use your my Social Security account to request a replacement Social Security card, check the status of an application, and estimate future benefits. The mission of the Library Learning program is to help improve retirement decisions through education. Which is why we are providing access to educational information on Social Security and Medicare that we feel are easier to understand than government issued publications.
